Well, I must say I am addicted to Motherjane‘s new album Maktub. After their awesome first album Insane Biography, which I think is one of the best Indian Rock albums in the recent past, I was eagerly waiting for the next one. Meanwhile I attended one of their concerts where they played the full first album interspersed with Metallica, Iron Maiden and other covers. They played non-stop for over 3 hours. They were quite tight on stage and Baiju impressed with his solos.
Maktub was released a month ago. They also released three videos, Fields of Sound, Chasing the Sun and Broken. The new album is one of the most original rock albums by an Indian band ever. Their music can be truly called the Motherjane sound. Hard rock riffs with carnatic influenced vocals and guitar solos define their quintessential sound. One of the most rocking albums of the year. Also watch a rockumentary of the band here.
Support the band. Support original Indian rock music. You can order the album from their site. Cheers!!!!
